Milleneufcentquatrevingtquatre is a young french brand of silk’s scarves, crossing traditional manufacturing quality with contemporary inspiration. Patterns are designed by using several manualy processes as well as drawing, painting, photomontage…
The identity is based on an exclusive typeface,
and a square grid for the composition.
The typeface follow classic aesthetic principes
of a Didot with a contemporary and forward-looking sensibilities. To preserve her delicate’s features,
the typeface has been declined in two differents optical sizes, to face mechanical reproduction constraints as silk screen printing.
This identity is anti-effusive, don’t follow trends,
it’s an image of timeless values.

Print design

The Suddenly residence is a polymorphous
and experimental space of research for artists.
The 2011 edition participants – Xavier Antin, Anne Guillaume, Luca Monterastelli, Marlies Pöschl, Céline Poulin, Marzia Rossi, Rita Sobral Campos and
Darren Tesar – went through a collective experiment, which this publication would reflect. Driven by the french curator Marc Bembekoff,
it’s the reflection of a certain editorial heterogeneousness, intrinsically linked to the different profiles and practices of each of this year’s residents. But it is also the record of zones of porosity generated by a collective collaboration, circumscribed by a given time, T, and a isolated place, away from the institutional world.
